Le Hoang Da is an independent scholar working at the intersection of Buddhist studies and philosophy.
His work focuses on the study of Buddhist texts and thought, spanning from early Buddhism to later and modern developments, while also extending into related fields such as history, archaeology, architecture, and the study of classical manuscripts. He is particularly interested in themes such as dependent origination, karma, epistemology, and the process of liberation. Through close reading, textual analysis, and interdisciplinary comparison, his research seeks to clarify the structure of experience, as well as the limits of conceptual thought in apprehending reality as a process.
Building on this foundation, he is currently developing the Bhūtatathatā Philosophy, an ongoing philosophical project that aims to extend and reconfigure questions concerning mind, cognition, continuity, and awakening in a contemporary context.
His work also places Buddhist thought in dialogue with modern philosophy—not merely as a doctrinal system, but as a source of insight for investigating the nature of cognition and experience.
Selected works include:
- Dealing with Modern Social Problems through the Buddha’s Teachings (2023)
- The Doctrine of Unbreakable Awakening
- The Doctrine of Rebirth and Continuity of Mind
- Awakening Without Hierarchy
- The Doctrine of the Unattainable Mind
These works are archived on international research platforms such as Zenodo and are catalogued in academic library systems.
In parallel with his research, he founded EnlightArtWorks, a contemplative art studio dedicated to creating high-quality Buddhist-inspired digital artworks. The project explores the relationship between visual form and contemplative experience, aiming to bring a sense of calm, clarity, and reflective depth into contemporary living spaces.
Across both philosophical inquiry and artistic practice, his work is guided by a shared concern:
to explore how awareness, compassion, and insight may be meaningfully articulated in modern life.
